Exploring the unique style of one of Mexico’s most endearing art legends, Frida Khalo, fast rising fashion label Mademoiselle Aglaia launches new ready-to-wear collection called ‘FRIDA’.
The retro collection is indeed a showcase of all the resplendence of the art icon whose self-portraits remains a marvel to the world. The FRIDA lookbook marries an array of brightly colored artsy pieces with well defined cuts.
Designer and proprietor of the fashion brand, Mariam Afolabi, says “This collection evolved from not just gaining inspiration from Frida but also the Italian culture, their dancers and the famous matadors. The headpieces and flower print fabrics used represent Frida’s look and fashion style. The consistent use of red is also a way of emphasizing the inspiration from a rose and the color used mostly by the Italian flamenco dancers”.
Assessing the fascination of these pieces would make one want to break into a Paso doble dance routine!
Truly a lookbook worthy of look! Check it out…
